What I've seen in the demo has gotten me very curious about the potential story of the full game. All the cameras watching the player here makes me think this may be some sort of experiment that's being conducted behind the scenes, and it was very surprising to see the design of the snake to be so different than how it was presented in the trailer (love both designs btw) and now I can't help but wonder if we'll be able to choose which snake hunts us in the full game.
Gameplay is simple but very much effective at keeping the player on edge, though it took me a bit to realize that the eggs were being passively collected when standing near them; I kept instinctively trying to press E to collect them, even after I learning I didn't need to press anything. While I'm also in agreement with others that the map would benefit from having a way to mark the player's position, I think if that were to be added it would be better to have it tied to a difficulty setting rather than making it standard for anyone that would prefer to keep it off for the challenge it brings.
Very much looking forward to the full release, as well as more in depth game over screens! ^w^
Also very curious if any achievements will be added in the full release, like one for escaping very quickly, or cheeky one for the player getting caught on purpose by running right towards the snake without completing any objectives. :P
Yes, the game is very GPU heavy due to all the complex lighting and volumetric smoke effects.
Are you using laptop with integrated videocard? We have reports from players who are using very low spec hardware that game is unable to render half of the scene. Runs out of memory.
If you have a way to force your computer to use a dedicated GPU, do it. I know some laptops have like a general-use mode and a gaming mode that they (usually) automatically switch between.
Actually I accidentally submitted a google form feedback before I noticed the graphics control settings 5 minutes of playing which I lowered the graphics to the minimum and it helped a bit.
This game is awesome! The experience is phenomenal and terrifying, with a perfectly liminal environment and scary, scaly monster lurking about its halls. The camera and map being limited in its detail add to the paranoia and unknown factor.
Narrow corridors that are claustrophobic, a cumbersome suit that provides no real protection whilst slowing the user down. Hearing it banging around in the vents and hissing upon finding its prey is a thrilling, chilling experience with the mysterious ending giving plenty of questions that demand answers. I've played it a few times already and can only wait with high hopes for the full release.
It's already wishlisted and I can't wait to get DIGESTED all over again.
Any criticisms I have are a lack of "You Are Here" symbol on the map and no swallowing sequence when caught, but what is presented is already quite strong!
Maybe a super simplified level as a tutorial, with signs? Or, since it seems to be some kind of reality show, a cinematic introducing the show? “Every week, contestants need to…”
I honestly really enjoyed the demo, the concept of it all is awesome, playability and graphics are pretty smooth, some small bugs with the sound when I turned the graphics to the max, and the snake bumping you without a death animation was a bit unexpected, but overall this was a really awesome horror game! I cannot wait to play the full game! Wishlisted it buddy!
Hi. Thank you for the cool video and the feedback. Yeah the sound bug is one of those nasty things where I fix it and then it always finds a way to come back one way or another.
I experimented with a cam feed mode where you can observe snake POV but and in gameplay it did not add any meaningful strategy and had an extra performance cost.
But pure POV where you control snake itself is not planned.
For being a demo, this was not too bad at all! Really solid mechanics for sure and that snake for sure was terrifying! Really sets the stage for the full release. Made a video on it.
Pretty solid, yet simple premise. My only complaint is that the snake needs to be heavily nerfed. Once it's on your tail, it feels pretty much impossible to get away from it. That, and the fact that the snake just kinda boops into you and knocks you over is a little goofy. Took me a bit by surprise and sorta took the scare out of it the first time it happened. I didn't even know I was dead until it cut to the death screen.
Other than that, sound design, graphics, and atmosphere are pretty on-point. The full release is on my Steam wishlist and it looks like it's in a very different stage of development compared to this demo. So I'm hoping that some of the issues I have will be addressed in the full game.
Overall, I'd give this demo a 4/10 just cause i couldn't get far due to the difficulty and mostly found myself trying to figure out how to properly avoid the snake. But I still plan on revisiting this in the future given how promising this is.
I've got to say, this is a unique idea, hate the idea of no hand holding but gives me a challenge, very excited to see the full release. Had a good time with this game, would love to see a something on the map to help us locate where we are cause it was a little difficult. Can't wait Dev(s) 💚🦖
Thank you for the feedback and the video - helps us devs a lot! For the full release, we'll add a few additional perks that can help players navigate & avoid the snek
This stuff, oof. Despite the fact that I could barely move my ass from fear, I still enjoyed it a lot XD.
The concept though, the backroom inspiration mixed with maze style with goals, i really like the direction this took. While editing I did have second thought of maybe trying it again in the future on full release, maybe, we'll see XD.
Feedback:
The atmosphere is already tense, so props for that. But the sound, that needs a bit more polishing. The direction is off-putting and confusing. You hear the snake crawling behind you even when it’s actually way in front. And snake's movement sound feels like it's stuck closer to its tail. Overall, the sound misguides you a lot and throws off the sense of direction.
Also, someone already mentioned the skin texturing. It could definitely help make the snake scarier. For me it worked only because I’m terrified of huge things, but in general, the design isn’t really that frightening if we look at it separartely.
One more thing I noticed: there’s no indication of your current location on the map. But honestly, I kinda like that, it adds to the fun. You can still figure out where you are when you destroy an egg and it pops up on the map.
Oh, and maybe add some hissing sounds too. Could add to the experience I'd say.
Had a good time with this game, would love to see a "You are here" for the mini-map. Also this snake is relentless XD I had trouble understanding how to avoid or escape the snake. But this was a great experience. Thanks for your time in making this, final product is gonna be good for sure!
Great game so far but could use some tuning. You have a really good concept going for sure just gotta deliver it all the way through. I'll be here once the full game releases. The snake looks too cute to be scary btw lol
Amazing so far! Would love to see some coiling and swallowing animations added in the future, maybe even some modifiers (Like color the snake, make it shinier/reflective) Stuff of that nature. Also possibly a crouch and ability to turn the flashlight off
The snake is happy to hear that it's amazing! We've noted the thoughts down; let us see what can be done. PS! The flashlight doesn't give away your position; only running and destroying the egg.
Highest priority is fixing the sound system. It doesn't feel very specific like something from Alien: Isolation. You should probably do something like pick one or two points along the length of the snake, and have them make noise inside the vents, at wherever they are, whenever they're passing through vents. Might not map 1-to-1 to how the coils actually move through space, but I think you'd want to prioritize clarity and precision of the snake's position anyways.
I think the current map viewer is cool/useful, and I like how the randomization works (doors + spawnpoints), but the snake is entirely too easy to dodge. At once point I only ran slightly around the head and I was able to just juke it entirely; it doesn't currently feel difficult to avoid.
I think the way the light works is also somewhat annoying because of it's sensitivity. The flashlight will switch sides when even edging closer to a wall, so it can feel like it does so almost randomly. I had to hug the wall just to make sure the light aimed where I wanted to, which felt REALLY bad for some reason.
A-also please. um. flesh out the way the snake attacks. Getting just knocked over was very tame. It's ok for version one, but I think at a bare minimum, it should like, let you see for an extra couple seconds while it coils around you (maybe just by letting it keep tracking around the player, at first, then see if it looks more realistic with minor tweaks?), but the goal would ideally be for that "drawn-out" ending that was promised, including actually seeing being swallowed.
This is really good for a first demo but it needs more work before the game feels right. I don't think you'll need anything like new mechanics or new visual assets, though you might need some small animations at first. Should just be tweaking for now. THEN I'll beg for a fully-detailed swallowing animation with louder gurgling noises and a longer tail length with every death.
No problem! I hope you understand that this is also coming from a place of already enjoying the game! You did a good job so far, you've got a good skeleton going. I think it won't take much actual new assets to improve it, if any!
just played the game and its a good game, unlike what others are saying i like how the map makes you actually think on where you are and look for indicators to where you might be on the map, dont listen to the people saying it needs to show where you are, i feel that would make it too easy as its relatively easy to avoid getting eaten in the first place
Thoughts on the demo: The map really needs an indicator on where you are, especially with how relatively quick the snake is in finding you. I think there would be a lot of potential in adding the actual swallowing scene, even as a paid add on. I think having a mechanic of potentially escaping the stomach would also be interesting. Otherwise, solid little horror game.
Not sure if it this will be seen but I wanted to say that there are some holes in the snakes stomach that lets you see through the map when you die but besides that really spooky game and really goo
Gonna play this game when I get off work but I will say just from the comments on twitter, a lot of people are playing this game for a reason other than it being a coll looking game
This game is very promising! My only complaint is that we can't see where we are on the map (even though I'm sure it's intentional to not be able to) it makes it very difficult to navigate going only by the pod numbers. Other than that, this was FLAWLESS!!
I'm honestly surprised that this isn't way up on the charts, this is a really creative game concept and I just love the replayability. I'll definitely be buying the steam version
Just played it and have some words to say! The atmosphere of the game is incredibly interesting. Walking through backrooms like corridors in order to find some stuff. That feeling when you're being hunted by the giant snake is very frightening and mesmerizing. When you hear her slithering in the hallway, and hope she'll slither past you while you hide in the corner. Because the reason you're scared is that you'll be digested if you get caught!
The mechanical part of the game is good too, No lag, glithes or something like that. Sadly didn't find the mouse sensitivity settings. Could be helpful.

can you please release a linux version [AppImage]for the demo for the same since it it is not working with wine/bottle on linux devices....
Very creepy. That thing was super unsettling!

unplayable, I could barely move and despite changing the settings to low quality it still was very very laggy, I could even see through walls
Hi.
Yes, the game is very GPU heavy due to all the complex lighting and volumetric smoke effects.
Are you using laptop with integrated videocard? We have reports from players who are using very low spec hardware that game is unable to render half of the scene. Runs out of memory.
yes I am
I use a Lenovo computer, which I got for my birthday almost 2 months ago, and yet its FPS is 2 at best in gameplay.
If you have a way to force your computer to use a dedicated GPU, do it. I know some laptops have like a general-use mode and a gaming mode that they (usually) automatically switch between.
Depends on the computer. Tf2 has an option to disable or enable multicore rendering.
Actually I accidentally submitted a google form feedback before I noticed the graphics control settings 5 minutes of playing which I lowered the graphics to the minimum and it helped a bit.

Addendum: the snake is cute.
Thank you for the kind words, feedback and for the wishlist.
I agree on the critical stuff. Had similar feedback from other players too.
Hi. Thank you for the video. Yes, the one thing I see consistently on videos are people figuring the gameplay out. It could be a smoother experience.
Will look into ways to make some gameplay stuff more obvious from the get go.
Maybe a super simplified level as a tutorial, with signs? Or, since it seems to be some kind of reality show, a cinematic introducing the show? “Every week, contestants need to…”
Hi. Thank you for the cool video and the feedback. Yeah the sound bug is one of those nasty things where I fix it and then it always finds a way to come back one way or another.
It's just a minor detail, the game's absolutely awesome regardless! Keep up the good work! :D
Will we ever have a snake POV?

buena demo
buena video :)
bro i entered one of those things and teleported me to a forest and then game over wtf kind of demo is this shit?
bro... you can sometimes win this shit by pure dumb luck ;)
Great video. Thank you. You no bad at videogames. This game is indeed difficult. Probably will tone done snake scent sensors a bit in future updates.
For being a demo, this was not too bad at all! Really solid mechanics for sure and that snake for sure was terrifying! Really sets the stage for the full release. Made a video on it.
It was fun video to watch. Also gathered some nice insights from your commentary. Thank You for playing
MUY BUEN JUEGO AUNQUE NO LO PUDE PASAR
¡Gracias por las palabras positivas! Puede que nos lleve un tiempo acostumbrarnos, pero no pudimos ponérselo demasiado fácil :)

Honestly really cool and solid concept, the game brings good atmosphere and tension while you try to run for your life!
thanks for sharing your positive words and video! The snake is happy :)
Game was pretty fun!!!! game 1 of 3

Thanks for the video feedback!

Yeah, it's an early demo.. going to make some improvements definitely. The snek is happy for the 4/5!!!

Game's pretty good. Kinda wish the was raised up a little be more head level. But that's just a nitpick of mine. Good job. Keep it up.
Here's my channel for other games I have played. https://www.youtube.com/@Levont
Great vid, thanks! Luckily we have some solutions for the head level ;)
The phobia/philia rate on people who download this game is gonna be crazy
👀
excellent game, very scary. 5/5
The snek is happy for the 5/5! Thanksssss

Cool game! The only thing I have a complaint about is the map. I couldn't figure out where I was on it, lol.
Thanks! Yeah, it can be hard for some time. You'll get the hang of it.
Gonna play this game when I get off work but I will say just from the comments on twitter, a lot of people are playing this game for a reason other than it being a coll looking game
Yeah dev is aware of it lmao they're considering it a win cause it's gonna be more people getting the game
I don't blame them, that is the reason I got interested, but ignoring that it's still a pretty good game for just an early demo
🐍
Awesome vid and great feedback. The snake and devs are really happy for the content - it helps us a lot!
Good game with A good atmoshper. It was Pretty hard tho> it's hard to escape the Snake>
Great to hear you enjoyed the atmosphere. Sorry, the snake was hangry :D
I'm honestly surprised that this isn't way up on the charts, this is a really creative game concept and I just love the replayability. I'll definitely be buying the steam version
Thank you so much for the positive words! The snake will be waiting for you on the full release then :D
